Battle of Belleau Wood is a re-creation of a WWI battle that took place in Belleau Wood, France, June 6, 1918. The film captures the intensity of the battle where the US Marines were driven to the ground by a blizzard of German Maxim gunfire pouring from the surrounding tree line. Defiant, the Marines abandoned the than popular French Butterfly formation and reverted to their own improvised tactics ultimately winning this historic battle.
