Sweet Genius is a sugar-packed competition series that challenges America's premier pastry chefs to create magical and inventive desserts.
Last year I was asked to shoot slice of life esc portraits of these chefs. The shows been a huge success for the Food Network so this year they've asked me back. 3 weeks of pastry mayhem.

"The Next List" features forward-looking thinkers in the fields of tech, science and social change. It also highlights the big ideas and events that help shape our collective future.
The series is currently airing. It's 40 episodes and only a fraction in the the can.

"The 2 - 2" follows the lives and experiences of New York's Police Rookies who are trying to balance work and life while patroling Harlem.

The Words of Kyaw Zwar is a recent collaboration between Voice of Witness and the Magnum Foundation's BE SEEN film maker Takaaki Okada created the piece based on excerpts from the narrative of Kyaw Zwar, a 41 year old political activist who was jailed for his political organizing during the 1988 pro-democracy uprising in Burma.
It was a privledge and honor to have been asked to lens this very powerful film.

I've been day playing for JV Productions top rated docu-soap, "Selling NY"
The show follows the lives of assertive, razor-sharp and always compelling real estate brokers in the country's most competitive market.

Big Loads is a show about Big Rig Truck Driving in America. I was asked by Bray Entertainment to join them in Oklahoma to shoot nothing but what was dubbed TRUCK PORN. Truck Porn is another name for beautiful driving shots of these huge trucks. I rigged for a week placing as many as four camera's at a time all over, an under, these rigs. Real cool stuff.
Good luck with the show. I enjoyed the 110 degree weather.

A few years back we were shooting The Progressives for Bill Moyers & PBS. At that time Bill's commitment to The Journal left him little time to focus on this personal project so it was shut down. Now, Bill has retired from The Journal and has resurrected the documentary. Currently in pre-production.
Brief History: The Progressive Era in the US was a period of social activism and reform that flourished from the 1880's to the 1920's. One main goal of the movement was purification of government.

We have just completed 12 short films for the Royal Opera House of London for the O2 production of Romeo & Juliet.

The crazy cast of everyone's favorite vodka soaked artist, Jonathan Grossmalerman, has just wrapped production on its half hour pilot.
The episode will premier on May 19th at the Schroeder Romero and Shredder Gallery in Chelsea (NYC) along with all the large format original art work created for the filming of the pilot. The show will run through June 25th.

This is an image piece for Northeast Utilities. We spent 4 days in a studio and 5 days on the road finding images that reflect the companies identity and the people that they serve.

Former Principals in the Royal Ballet, Michael Nunn & William Trivitt formed the Ballet Boyz in 2001 and have continued to make a dramatic mark on the British dance scene with their unique performance style.
This production features a mix of professional and amateur dancers, all drawn from radically different modern dance styles including tango, street, and pole dancing. Following nation wide auditions and a brief selection process the boys will put together a unique company to perform a one-night-only show stopper at one of New York City's choice venues.

The New Adventures of Grossmalerman, a comic book created by Guy Richards Smit. The show is evolving in to something other than what we originally imagined. We are currently shaping the show before we go to full up pilot.

A comedic fable based on the teachings of the jewish faith. A journey film. To be released just in time for Chanukah.
We shot for seven (7) days on location in a magical forest and i must say it looks really good. I'll post the trailer as soon as it becomes available. Mazel Tof? Mazel Tuf? Oy vey!.. this was a tough one to get in the can... but well worth it.

The feature film, Jordan, I shot on location in New Mexico in the summer of '09 is premiering in NY at the Film Anthology Archives.
Jordan's worldwide premier was at the Waterfront Film Festival in June, 2010. Media Luna International in Cologne, Germany is representing this film for world sales.
Jordan tells the story of a 5 year old girl who has to find help for her injured mother following a car crash on a remote mountain highway. Jordan is a nail biting thriller about the bond between mother and child and how far each is willing to go to protect it.

I just completed the pilot for a new show being produced by the Documentary Group. We spent one week traveling between 3 prisons in Colorado documenting the conscience calming effect of training unwanted dogs for a higher purpose (i.e. seeing eye dog, bomb sniffing) by violent killers.
I am currently working with the Documentary Group on Wings of Gold. The history of Naval Aviation, past to present day.

I recently had the privilege to Direct and DP a re-creation film of a WWI battle.The Battle of Belleau Wood will become the centerpiece of an immersion experience at the new wing of the National Museum of the Marine Corps set to open in the Fall of 2010.
The film recently premiered at a Black Tie Gala event at the museum for all the top brass of the Marine Corps and Washington DC's political elite.
